Job Overview

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Cook to prepare fresh, hygienic and well-balanced daily meals for our staff at EdgeCraft in Rawalpindi. The ideal candidate should be confident in preparing Pakistani home-style food, maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety, and be able to manage day-to-day kitchen activities independently.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys cooking, can prepare consistent Pakistani meals without constant supervision, keeps the kitchen clean and organised, and takes responsibility for the quality and hygiene of the food being prepared.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working as a cook in a home, office, restaurant, workshop or similar environment.
  • Good knowledge of preparing everyday Pakistani meals.
  • Ability to prepare fresh, tasty and hygienic food consistently.
  • Understanding of kitchen hygiene, food handling and safe food storage.
  • Ability to plan meals and manage ingredients efficiently.
  • Honest, punctual, responsible and dependable.
  • Able to maintain a clean and organised kitchen.
  • Basic knowledge of grocery quantities and commonly used cooking ingredients.
  • Ability to work independently and manage daily cooking tasks on time.

Responsibilities

  • Daily Meal Preparation: Prepare fresh lunch and other agreed meals for staff according to the daily schedule.
  • Pakistani Cooking: Prepare a variety of Pakistani dishes such as vegetables, lentils, chicken, meat, rice, roti and other regular home-style meals.
  • Meal Planning: Help plan practical daily or weekly menus with suitable variety.
  • Food Preparation: Handle cutting, preparation, cooking and serving of meals in a clean and organised manner.
  • Kitchen Hygiene: Keep cooking surfaces, utensils, appliances and food-preparation areas clean and hygienic.
  • Food Safety: Store raw and cooked ingredients properly and follow appropriate food-handling practices.
  • Ingredient Management: Monitor kitchen ingredients and inform management when groceries or cooking supplies need to be replenished.
  • Waste Control: Use ingredients responsibly and minimise unnecessary food waste.
  • Kitchen Organisation: Keep groceries, utensils and cooking equipment properly arranged after use.
